Newly sworn in Mayor of Portmore, Keith Hinds said he will be intensifying his efforts to gain more benefits from toll operators for Portmore residents.

According to reports, the Government is considering an increase in the toll costs for the Portmore leg of Highway 2000.

In light of this, Mr. Hinds said he will be pushing for the toll operators to contribute some of their earnings to the Municipality.

Transport and Works Minister, Mike Henry stated he has not received an application for the toll increase, which will be due on January 15.
