The National Works Agency (NWA) in Jamaica is reporting that heavy rains are affecting some roadways in sections of Trelawny and St. James.

The NWA says in Trelawny the main road from Falmouth to Springvale has been inundated.

It says the roadway is flooded in the community of Bliss Pastures and is only accessible to large vehicles.

The agency says drivers of small vehicles, who are travelling from Falmouth towards Deeside, should turn left in the vicinity of the Wakefield Police Station and travel through the Friendship community and then on to Deeside.

The Communications Manager at the NWA Stephen Shaw is advising motorists travelling through the Tilston and Moefield communities to exercise caution as sections of the roadway are flooded.

Shaw says over in St. James there have been similar reports involving several roadways such as Comfort Hall, Kempshott, Guilsbro and Kensington.
