The death of Jamaican reggae icon Gregory Isaacs has left the world saddened and cyber space is one of the areas where his death is being noticed.
Isaacs died early this morning at his home in London, England. He was 59.
Isaacs' manager Copeland Forbes confirmed that the artiste died at his home in London following a long illness.
Gregory Isaacs was born on July 15, 1951 in Fletcher's Land, Kingston, Jamaica. He began his recording career in the late 1960s.
However, it was not before the mid-1970s that he hit his stride with ballads like ‘Love is Overdue’ and ‘All I Have Is Love’.
On the Internet, scores of music lovers have expressed admiration for the man known as the ‘Cool Ruler’.
The Jamaica Gleaner’s website www.jamaica-gleaner.com, Isaacs’ story has already attracted over 60 comments, with over 550 people sharing the story on social media website Facebook. Also, more than 60 persons have re-tweeted the story on micro blogging website Twitter.
On Twitter, Gregory Isaacs was the number one trending topic and held four spots during the day with Isaccs, an incorrect spelling of his name with Issacs, Night Nurse and RIP Gregory.
On Google Trends, the item of Gregory Issacs as a search peaked at number 8 and went to number 11.
