42 killed in D/Republic Congo

At least 42 people have died after their boat sank on a remote river in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to officials, more than 100 people are missing, while 22 persons were rescued after the accident on the Oubangui River.

They said the boat, which was overcrowded, hit a rock and capsized near the Central African Republic border.

The boat was reportedly carrying 182 passengers from both countries.
