Taxi operators protest cause traffic pile up

Taxi operators plying the Old Harbour to Spanish Town route blocked the roadway in the vicinity of Marlie Mount to protest against the poor road conditions, today.

The taxi operators are calling for the Member of Parliament, Everald Warmington to address their concerns.

As a result of the roadblock, there was a traffic pileup near the Vineyards Plaza of Highway 2000.

Two persons were injured in a motor vehicle crash on the Portmore leg of Highway 2000 this morning.

According to police reports, the vehicle overturned and crashed into the median.

The driver escaped injuries but the passengers suffered broken bones.
