Investors not aware of investment schemes risks

The deputy executive director of the Financial Services Commission (FSC) said many investors are still not aware of the risks involved in putting their money in high-yielding investment schemes.

George Roper has named Cash Plus as one of those schemes.

He urges investors to assess the financial status of the company before investing in it.

Mr. Roper was speaking against the background of the legal battle between Cash Plus Limited and The National Commercial Bank (NCB).

The FSC has written to Cash Plus demanding its financial details.

Cash Plus was given a November 10 deadline but it was extended at the request of the investment scheme.

Cash Plus is now expected to submit a report on its financial affairs to the FSC tomorrow.
