Blue Cross of Jamaica has broken its silence on the controversial re-tendering of the contract for the health insurance scheme for public sector workers.

The State Minister with responsibility for the Public Service Dwight Nelson made the announcement last week.

The Chairman of Blue Cross Dr. Henry Lowe says he is disappointed that the bid is to be re-tendered.

He said Blue Cross complied with every aspect of the tender request.

He also said in the evaluation process, Blue Cross of Jamaica was accredited with 104 points to the 96 accredited by LOJ.

But he said the evaluation process was flawed.

As are result Mr. Lowe says a decision should have been taken to re-do the evaluation.
