Pearnel Charles’ daughter enters politics

The daughter of labour minister Pearnel Charles is set to enter representational politics.



Dr Patrece Charles Freeman will be running for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) in Eastern St Thomas in the next general election.



Charles Freeman is likely to face incumbent Dr Fenton Ferguson of the People's National Party (PNP).



Her candidacy is expected to be ratified at JLP central executive meeting on September 25.



Dr Charles Freeman takes over from Jairzenho Bailey as the East St Thomas caretaker.



Bailey who had been the caretaker since November last year resigned today with immediate effect.



A release from the JLP said Dr Charles Freeman and Bailey shook hands and embraced each other at the meeting today following the resignation.
