Air Jamaica promise audit

The management of Air Jamaica has reportedly promised to carry out an audit before any restructuring is done at the national airline.

This was decided on during a meeting yesterday, between Air Jamaica’s management and the National Workers Union (NWU).

The meeting was called to discuss issues affecting workers at the airline.

The workers were upset about reported plans by the airline to cut staff.

Vice President of the NWU, Granville Valentine said the management has assured that no jobs will be cut without an audit being done.

Mr. Valentine also says the company has pledged to improve communication between itself and the union.

The NWU represents more than 1,500 workers at the Air Jamaica.
