The dual carriageway from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James, will go into operation today.

This follows cries from motorists for improved roadways after having to endure hours of traffic congestion in and out of the city on a daily basis.

Minister of Transport and Works, Mike Henry says the project has been completed at a cost of $40 million, which is $10 million below the $50.2 million budget.

The dual carriageway runs from the airport in Montego Bay to Greenside in Trelawny.

Mr. Henry says plans are underway for the construction of an overhead pass in the vicinity of Success Primary School.

The area has been the scene of several accidents.
