Former Reggae Boy, Onandi Lowe is to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s court on January 8 to answer to ganja charges.

The footballer is charged along with four other men for illegal possession of and dealing in ganja.

The police arrested them yesterday.

The police say about 1 o’clock in the afternoon, they stopped a car in which the men were traveling along the Spanish Town bypass.

The police say the car was searched and a black plastic bag containing 42 sticks of ganja was found.

Two years ago, Lowe was cleared of being a part of a plot to smuggle crack cocaine into the UK.

At the time, UK authorities said the drug had a street value of 117 thousand pounds.

Lowe was a part of the football team that qualified for the 1998 World Cup in France.
