Voters are out in their numbers in South West St. Elizabeth to select their next political representative in Jamaica’s General Election.

The People's National Party's Hugh Buchanan is going up against Christopher Tufton of the Jamaica Labour Party.

Buchanan was the first to vote at 7.08 a.m., at the James Private School in the Pedro Plains division, while Tufton the JLP deputy leader cast his ballot at 10.15 a.m.

Meanwhile, The Gleaner has received unconfirmed reports of acts of political intimidation by both parties, however both candidates have denied the claim.
