India’s captain Saurav Ganguly says his team will be very competitive against hosts Australia in their Test series, which starts on Boxing Day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

He says the team is now stronger compared to 2003 when the teams battled to a 1-1 draw in Australia.

India arrived in Australia last week having beaten Pakistan 1-0 in a Test series.

They also beat the English in England.

Australia\'s biggest selection worry will be the balance of their bowling attack.

Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Tait will compete for the third pace bowler position if selectors include left-arm wrist spinner Brad Hogg.
