The National Workers Union (NWU) says it has reached a four-year agreement with the Management of Cool Petroleum Limited, which will see an increase in salaries for clerical workers.

According to NWU Senior negotiating officer, Robert Harris, salaries will increase by 4.5 per cent in year 1, 4 per cent in year 2 and 6 per cent in years 3 and 4.

Harris said the employees will also benefit from performance based increases.

In the meantime, Harris, who also works on behalf of the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees, said an agreement has also been reached with Kingston Wharves Limited for salary increases.

That agreement will result in an increase of 8 per cent in year 1 and year 2 and 6 per cent in year 3.

It is effective from November 1, 2010 to October 31, 2013.

Workers at both companies will also receive other benefits including laundry allowance and meal subsidies.
