The Government is to hold another round of talks with public sector unions on February 23, as it seeks to reach an agreement for the 2010/2012 contract period.

Yesterday, Horace Dalley, the minister with responsibility for the public service, met with union leaders and other members of the Public Sector Monitoring Committee.

A statement from the finance ministry said Dalley reiterated the administration’s commitment to participating in dialogue , to solve the public sector welfare issues.

The ministry also said union representatives updated the ministry on outstanding issues relating to the 2010/2012 salary agreement.

The issues include matters relating to Pension Reform, Reclassification and

Tax Reform.

Last Tuesday, the Government re-tabled the Green Papers for Tax Reform and Pension Reform.

Dalley said meetings of the Joint Select Committee of Parliament will shortly be reconvened to examine those issues.
