FSC executive director resigns
Executive director of Jamaica’s Financial Services Commission (FSC), Rohan Barnett, has resigned the position, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and the Public Service announced this afternoon.
His resignation takes effect on March 30.
Barnett was appointed executive director in January 2009. Under his leadership, the FSC intensified its efforts to identify suspected ponzi schemes and expanded its efforts to alert and educate the public about those scams.
The Ministry said Barnett had earlier indicated that at an appropriate time he would be terminating his services at the FSC to pursue other endeavours.
Leon Anderson, deputy executive director of the FSC will assume the role as the acting executive director.
