Businessman foils Mo-Bay robbery

A would-be robber was shot and injured in Montego Bay, St James a short while ago as he and an accomplice attempted to hold up a businessman.

The incident happened in the vicinity of Barnett Street in downtown Montego Bay around 3 o’clock.

The would-be robber was hit after the businessman returned fire.

The would-be robber and his accomplice reportedly attempted to escape on a motor cycle, but the vehicle crashed.

The accomplice is reported to have escaped with the gun, but the police have since taken the injured attacker to hospital.

A large contingent of police personnel arrived on the scene after the incident.
