Man freed of gun, wounding charges
A St Catherine man was freed of wounding and other gun charges in the Gun Court on Friday.
He is Damion Bailey of a Portmore address in St Catherine. Bailey was freed after the Crown said it was not satisfied with the evidence given by the complainant about the incident.
Bailey’s appearance in court arose from a September 10, 2010 incident in Portmore where he allegedly shot and injured a man. He was subsequently held and singled out during an identification parade by the complainant.
Bailey was charged with wounding with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.
His case was first mentioned in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court before being transferred to the Gun Court. Bailey was represented by Attorney-at-Law Courtney Maxwell.
