Palisadoes Road project talks continue today

More talks are to be held today on the stalled Palisadoes Road Project as truckers continue their second week of strike action.
The truckers have withdrawn their service to protest what they say are low haulage rates.
They are also upset about working conditions.
Sub-contractors and engineering firm China Harbour are expected to meet today to discuss the issue.
Talks between the truckers and the sub-contractors broke down on Monday, after no agreement was reached on adjusting the haulage rates.
President of the All Island Truckers’ Association, Leonard Green, said his members are growing even more anxious as they have not been paid for work completed in recent weeks.
He said the truckers will not end their protest until their demands are met.
Green said if the issue continues to escalate the association will be calling for the intervention of the Transport Ministry.
