The Hon Dr. Peter Phillips - Minister of National Security

First appointed as Minister of National Security in November 2001, Dr. Peter Phillips has retained this position until the last election.



Before taking up this responsibility, he served as Minister of Transport and Works from 1998 to October 2001 and was Minister of Health from 1995 to 1997.



Between 1994 and 1995, Dr. Phillips was Minister in Charge of Special Projects in the Office of the Prime Minister and from 1993 to 1994 was Minister without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister. He also served as Secretary to the People\'s National Party from 1991 to 1994.



Dr. Phillips holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and a Masters in Government at the University of the West Indies, Mona. He pursued his Doctorate in International Political Economy and Development Studies and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 1984.



Born on December 28, 1949 in Kingston, Dr. Phillips is married and has two children.
