The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) will be holding a church service at the East Queen Street Baptist Church in Kingston today as part of the activities planned to commemorate its 69th anniversary.

The service began at 10 o’clock and JLP Leader Andrew Holness is expected to give a special address.

Following the service, JLP officials and other functionaries will meet at the party’s Belmont Road headquarters for a meeting of its Central Executive.

The JLP was officially launched by Sir Alexander Bustamante on July 8, 1943 at the Ward Theatre in downtown, Kingston.
