Policemen on bail

The four policemen who were implicated in the death of a 19-year-old man in Grants Pen, St Andrew in September were each granted bail today in the sum of one million dollars. Detective Corporals Noel Bryan, Phillip Dunstan and Detective Constables Omar Miller and Clayton Fearon are to return to court on January 8 to answer murder charges. The Director of Public Prosecutions, Kent Pantry, charged them each with the murder of Aundre Thomas following a ruling handed down in October.

Relatives of the teenager reported that the police killed him in cold blood. However, the police claimed that the teen was killed after he and a group of men engaged them in a shootout. The policemen were also accused of tampering with the service vehicle, which was used to transport the youth to the hospital.
