JDIP report deadline today
The report was expected to be completed by last month but Transport and Works Minister Dr. Omar Davies said the auditors asked for an extension.
The JDIP audit is being conducted by Canadian firm Kroll Consulting and is costing the government $16 million.
In addition to the JDIP, the auditors are also probing the Palisadoes Shoreline Protection and Rehabilitation Programme.
The auditors are to determine, among other things, if there were any fraudulent transactions involved in the execution of the JDIP and the Palisadoes Shoreline Project.
The auditors have also been asked to make recommendations on ways to improve the quality of the performance-monitoring capabilities of the programmes.
The audit was first announced by former Prime Minister Andrew Holness last November following a damning report by Auditor General Pamela Monroe-Ellis on the JDIP.
The report highlighted at least 13 adverse findings ranging from unaccounted and unapproved spending to the withholding of information from the auditors.
