Traffic cop charged with forgery
Members of the Anti-Corruption Branch today arrested and charged 43-year-old police sergeant Joscelyn Richards with three counts of forgery.
Richards, who works at the Police Traffic Headquarters was charged after a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
He appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today and was granted bail in the sum of $350,000.
The cop was also ordered to surrender his travel documents.
A file was submitted to the DPP after an investigation into irregularities relating to gas cards for service vehicles.
The investigation revealed that the sergeant may have forged signatures on gas receipts at service stations.
