MP seeking solution to disruptive gays in New Kingston
The Member of Parliament for St. Andrew South Eastern says businesses and residents in the New Kingston area have been complaining that they are being intimidated and harassed by homosexual men.
According to Julian Robinson, residents have even made reports of the men trespassing on their premises.
He says they also gather around an ATM in the area and customers who need to use the machine have complained that they feel unsafe.
The M.P says in light of these complaints, a meeting was convened yesterday by the police, the Mayor of the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation, and the CEO of the Child Development Agency and other stakeholders.
Robinson says he’s merely seeking to resolve a problem identified by his constituents, insisting that his actions are in no way discriminatory.
He says no decisions were made at yesterday’s meeting but that a follow-up meeting has been scheduled for later this week to identify solutions to the problem.
