Law enforcement officials in Florida have arrested a Jamaican man, who they say is being investigated for financial crimes, narcotics activities and sending bulk currency to the western United States and Jamaica.

He has been named as 33-year-old O'Neil Marlon Martin.

Officials say he was arrested two weeks ago after a search of his house in Sarasota, Florida where US$11,000 worth of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, along with weapons, shipping boxes, and thousands more in cash were found.

They say Martin was then arrested on various narcotics and weapon-related charges.

Investigators believe he was a middle- to upper-level narcotics supplier to North Sarasota going under the false identity of David Lawrence Motta.

They say Martin was previously arrested in Sarasota in 2008 for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and possession of a forged Florida driver's license while under the alias, Martin O'Neil.
