The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is warning customers to be on the alert for people pretending to be JPS employees.

According to the light and power company, people with fake ID cards claiming to be JPS employees have been visiting customers in St Elizabeth and seeking access to their premises.

The JPS is advising customers to look closely at the IDs presented by those claiming to be acting on behalf of the Company.

JPS says its ID cards include photos of the employees, along with their names and employee numbers.

Customers who have any concerns about persons claiming to be JPS employees, should not allow them onto their premises and should call the police, or contact JPS at 1-888-225—5577 or 1-888-935-5577.
