The police are reporting that two persons were killed in separate incidents in Clarendon and Kingston yesterday.

Livingston ‘Starrie’ Roberts, 62, taxi operator, of Free Town in Clarendon and Michael Robinson, 31, labourer, of Angula in West Kingston.

It is reported that shortly after 2.30am on New Year’s Day, Mr. Roberts arrived at his house and parked his car, when he was pounced upon by men with knives and handguns who demanded money.

Mr. Robert’s relatives who were in the house reportedly heard him crying for help and made attempts to assist him, but were sent back by his attackers.

According to police reports, explosions were heard shortly afterwards and residents later found Mr. Roberts’ body in a pool of blood with what appeared to be stab wounds.

In the next reported incident, the police said Michael Robinson was among a group of men playing dominoes at a section of Arnett Gardens called Mexico, when a lone gunman approached them.

The gunman reportedly opened fire on the group.
