Residents of several St Ann communities are bracing for further discomfort tonight following heavy rains since Sunday.

Our correspondent reports that on Gully road in St Ann’s Bay, a house reportedly collapsed on a man, who was alone at the time, however he is said to have escaped injuries.

In Priory, a boulder got dislodged from a hillside and crashed into a house causing extensive damage.

However, no one was injured.

Over in Scarlett Hall in Salem, eight households were marooned as water inundated the yards.

Three of the houses were flooded this morning but conditions have since improved.

According to Alvin Clarke, the parish disaster coordinator for St Ann, there were also reports of flooding in Pimento Walk, Salem and outlying communities of Ocho Rios.

Clarke said the disaster committee is keeping a close watch on the situation.

In the meantime, intermittent showers continue to affect sections of St Ann with the met service predicting more showers into tomorrow.
