Jamaican Diaspora group provides free healthcare

A New York based Jamaican Diaspora group will be sending a team of medical professionals to Jamaica, to offer free healthy services to needy persons across the island later this month.

The Organisation for International Development (OID), is due in the island from January 20 to 28.

The outreach activities will begin with a health fair in Accompong, St. Elizabeth where dental and medical services will be provided. The team is also expected to visit communities in Manchester, Clarendon, St. James, Hanover, Kingston and St. Catherine.

Founder of the organization, Dr. Roy Steele said he is happy to be giving back to his homeland through this venture.

The organization started in 1990, and is committed to promoting good health among needy persons throughout the Jamaican Diaspora.
