The Police Traffic Division will this week begin to turn up the pressure on motorists operating certain vehicles without commercial carrier licenses.

Head of the Police Traffic Division, Senior Superintendent Radcliffe Lewis, said all persons using their vehicles for economic activity must have the green license plate.

SSP Lewis admits that the police have not been enforcing the law but says this will now change.

He said beginning at 10 a.m., his teams will be hitting the roads island wide to conduct checks.

SSP Lewis said persons found operating vehicles for commercial use but who do not have the proper license plates will be ticketed.
