Update: Defense closes case in Boulevard murder trial
The defense has now closed its case in the trial of the three policemen, who were charged with the 2004 murders of two men who were abducted from a plaza.
Defense attorney, Debra Martin is now addressing the jury.
Police Victor Barrett, Corporal Louie Lynch and Constable Paul Edwards are on trial.
The Crown is alleging that 20-year-old Kemar Walters and 44-year-old Oliver Duncan were taken away from a plaza on Washington Boulevard, St Andrew on December 23, 2004.
It is being alleged that Lynch and Edwards were present when the men were taken away.
However, Lynch testified this morning that he was not at the plaza on December 23, 2004 but was in Clarendon.
And in giving his testimony, Barrett said he had no conversation with the Crown’s main witness on the day of the incident.
Both Lynch and Barrett have described the Crown’s main witness as a liar.
