A man is now on the run following the stabbing death of a resident in Portland last evening.

Thirty-three-year-old higgler, Rohan Moore, of Kensington district was reportedly stabbed to death during a domestic dispute with another man, known only as ‘Chiney’, shortly after 10 o’ clock last night.

The police say Moore and the man were involved in a longstanding dispute, and that several reports of threats and intimidation were made by Moore’s girlfriend to the Manchioneal police.

The police say they visited the area on several occasions to speak to the accused in an effort to quell the tension, but they were unsuccessful in locating him.

According to the police, the accused was enraged that Moore’s girlfriend had reported the matter, and went in search of him.

Moore was reportedly spotted at his gate last night, and during an argument, the man allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed him several times.

Moore was rushed to the Port Antonio but later died while arrangements were being made for him to be transferred to a hospital in Kingston.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene.

Moore’s stabbing death is the second murder in less than four days in the parish, following the brutal slaying of a woman at Manchioneal on Christmas Eve.
