Westmoreland Credit Union to discuss staff bonus
The management of the Westmoreland Credit Union is to review its bonus payment system for employees. On Monday, the workers walked off the job claiming that the credit union did not make the payments.
The workers say this breached an agreement between them and the credit union’s management. The National Workers Union, NWU, which represents over forty of the employees, instructed them to go back to work this morning.
Today, union representatives met with the Labour Ministry and the Credit Union’s management to discuss the issue. The president of the NWU, Vincent Morrison says the Credit Union’s management agreed to review its financial status with a view to making the bonus payments.
