Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller, has encouraged Jamaicans to take a positive outlook on the controversial Volkswagen Super Bowl advertisement, which is slated to be aired on Sunday.

The advertisement has been met with mixed reactions with some Jamaicans embracing the way Jamaicans are portrayed in the minute long commercial, while others have taken offence.

However, addressing a press conference staged at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) headquarters yesterday, Simpson miller said the ad should be viewed as a compliment.

The Prime Minister also revealed the she actually enjoys various aspects of the advertisement.

Simpson Miller says she is not surprise that a large company such as Volkswagen has decided to use Jamaican slangs in an advertisement, as Jamaicans have been impacting the world for some time now.

She says it is a sign that the world is watching Jamaica.

The ad is to be aired during the highly anticipated American Football final between San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.
