New Zealand tops first Test

Matthew Bell’s unbeaten half century saw hosts New Zealand end day one of the first Test against Bangladesh firmly on top.



Bell, playing his first Test in more than six years, made 74 not out to help the Kiwis reach 156 for four in reply to Bangladesh’s miserable total of 137. Jacob Oram is undefeated on 17.



Earlier, Chris Martin captured four wickets Oram three as Bangladesh collapsed before team.
