Jamaica has plans to strengthen its anti-doping legislation ahead of the Beijing Olympics in August.

Government medical officer, Dr Herbert Elliott, said the legislation is a very comprehensive one and he is hoping to get it to parliament before the end of March.

He said an anti-doping unit would be set up in the sports ministry.

Dr. Elliott also said Jamaica would establish bilateral arrangements with countries where athletes are based.
