Mona residents still without power after gas truck fire, probe continues

KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Several residents of Mona Road, St Andrew are still without power and other utilities following yesterday's fire of a gas tank truck.

This morning fire investigator were on the scene combing through the burnt shell of the truck.

Yesterday, an elderly woman Doris Chen along with her house keeper and sister who live near the scene of the fire had to be lifted over a neighbour's wall to safety.

Public relations officer of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Emeleo Ebanks, who is also part of the investigative team, says the origin of the fire is not yet known.

He explained that it could take days before the cause is established.
