KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Calabar’s ace quarter-miler Javon Francis, as expected, delivered a stunning performance to break Usain Bolt’s Class One 400 metres record on today’s final day of the 2014 ISSA/Boys' and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

Francis outclassed the field to win in 45 seconds flat to erase Bolt’s mark of 45.35 seconds which was done in 2003 while the athlete was representing William Knibb.

Nathan Allen of St Jago was well beaten in second in 46.16 seconds, while Lennox Williams of Manchester High finished third in 46.48.

Earlier Devon Spencer of St Elizabeth Technical High School set a new record in the Javelin with a 64.08 metre effort.
