Jones gets six month for using banned substances

Embattled Olympian Marion Jones was sentenced to six months imprisonment for using banned substances.



Jones admitted in court that she took performance-enhancing substances ahead of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where she won five medals. After denying using performing-enhancing drugs for years.



Last October, Jones said she used the designer steroid ‘the Clear’ from September 2000 to July 2001.



The International Olympic Committee has since stripped her of her five medals.
