16-y-o drowns in Westmoreland

A diving trip turned deadly in Westmoreland yesterday after a 16-year-old boy lost his life at a resort.

The police say Nydo Parkes, of White Hall in Negril, is suspected to have drowned while swimming with friends.

According to police reports, Parkes was among a group of boys who went diving but during the activities, he got into difficulties and drowned.

The police say they were summoned and Parke's body was retrieved from the water. It was then taken to the morgue for a post mortem.
