INDECOM to give update on Mario Deane probe

Published:Tuesday | August 12, 2014 | 12:50 PM

The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that Terrence Williams, the commissioner of the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) will give an update on the Mario Deane probe this evening.

Williams is scheduled to deliver an address at a Rotary Club function at Glistening Waters in Falmouth, Trelawny, at seven o’clock.

When INDECOM launched its probe on the day of Mario's beating, the Commission said it would seek to ascertain whether the actions or the omissions of the police contributed to the injury and subsequent death.

INDECOM was established in 2010 to independently investigate alleged wrongdoings by members of the security force.
