The National Water Commission (NWC) says it's working to restore supplies to thousands of customers in Manchester by Tuesday August 26.

Since Monday, customers served by the Greater Mandeville Water Supply system have been without water because of what the NWC says are operational challenges.

However, the NWC says it is working hard to carry out the necessary repairs in order to restore supplies in just over another week.

In the interim, the NWC says water will be trucked to the affected areas.

They include Downs, Prospect, Hatfield, Greenvale, Mandeville and its environs, sections of New Forest, Farm, Nain, Mountain Valley, Georges Valley, Richmond, Old England, Gray Ground, Newport,Ward Avenue, Heartease, Albion, May Day, Marshalls Pen and Huntley.
