Mother, three sons charged with ganja offences

Detectives from the Organized Crime Investigations Division (OCID) have charged a mother and her three sons with dealing in and possession of ganja.



Forty-year-old Julia Barrett and her sons; 25-year-old Pianky Jones, 24-year-old Tafari Jones and 21-year-old Marcus Jones all of Giltress Street, Rollington Town, St. Andrew were arrested on August 4.



OCID detectives reportedly found the weed during a special operation at premises occupied by Barrett and her sons.



The police say the weed weighing 100 pounds has a street value of $500,000.00.



They appeared before the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 18 and are scheduled to return on Monday, October 6.
