Phone thief held by May Pen police

The Clarendon police have held a man who may have been robbing people of their mobile phones at gun point.



The police say the man was held last night with an illegal firearm and several mobile phones in May Pen.

According to the police, personnel on foot patrol tried to accost him in the vicinity of Gordon Street and he ran.



He was chased and held and a 9-millimetre firearm, along with seven mobile phones, were found in his possession.



His identity is being withheld pending an identification parade.



In the meantime, the police are asking persons in May Pen whose cell phones may have been stolen to contact them at 986-2529.
