CRICKET: Four Jamaicans in WI T20 squad

Published:Monday | August 25, 2014 | 8:12 PM

Destructive opener Chris Gayle and Andre Russell are among four Jamaicans named in a West Indies 13-man squad to face Bangladesh in the one-off Twenty20 International.

The match will take place on Wednesday at Warner Park in St Kitts.

Left-arm medium pace bowler Krishmar Santokie and pace bowler Sheldon Cottrell are the other Jamaicans in the squad.

The squad also includes left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn, who is set to play his first Twenty20.

The 31-year-old Benn has not featured in a West Indies Twenty20 set-up since 2010 when South Africa toured the West Indies.

Benn is included because leg-spinner Samuel Badree is missing due to injury.

Darren Sammy will lead the squad.

The remaining members of the squad are Dwayne Bravo, Andre Fletcher, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Lendl Simmons and Dwayne Smith.
