Trafalgar New Heights Rotary delivers free healthcare to children of Maverley

Published:Sunday | August 31, 2014 | 1:01 PM

More than 100 children in Maverley, St Andrew benefited from primary healthcare services, including dental care, during a health fair in the community yesterday.

The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Trafalgar New Heights.

President of the club, Coleen Lewis, said the aim was to assist parents who may be burdened with back-to-school expenditure at this time of year. She said children's health needs are sometimes overlooked during this period because parents and caregivers may not have the time or money to access healthcare services, particularly dental care.

The children were also provided with back-to-school supplies, while some adults were able to access services, including information on breastfeeding.
