Three hospitalised in King Street shooting

Three people remain in hospital in stable condition after they were attacked by gunmen along King Street in the capital city yesterday.

The police's Corporate Communications Unit reports that about 4:20 p.m., two armed men on a Jamco motor bike opened fire on three males and a female as they stood along King Street. The gunmen sped along the roadway, but were intercepted by the police.

The gunmen reportedly engaged the lawmen in a gun battle before escaping. They, however, left behind a Taurus 9-millimetre pistol and five 9-millimetre rounds of ammunition.

The four injured persons were taken to hospital where the female was treated and released and the others admitted in a stable condition.
