Correctional officer stabbed to death, veterinarian common-law husband arrested

A Clarendon veterinarian is now in police custody awaiting murder charges following the stabbing death of his common-law wife this morning.

The police say 35-year-old correctional officer, Lorene Francis, was killed allegedly by her child's father, as she boarded a bus in May Pen, Clarendon, about 7:30.

Francis worked at the Rio Cobre Juvenile Correctional Facility.

It's reported that she has had a long-standing feud with her child's father.

Francis, who was stabbed once in the neck was rushed to the May Pen hospital where she was pronounced dead.
