KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Police constable Patrick Ingram today pleaded guilty to charges of robbery with aggravation, when he appeared in the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court.

He's to be sentenced on October 6.

Ingram who was attached to the Kingston Eastern Police Division, is reported to have gone to a liquor store on July 29, 2013, with another man, both declaring that they were policemen.

The police say the men then proceeded to rob the establishment of over $100,000 in cash and eight cartons of cigarettes.

The police were called and constable Ingram and the other man nabbed as they returned to the scene of the crime for a police radio that was left behind.

Checks later revealed that Constable Ingram’s accomplice was not a policeman.

He is currently in police custody.
